Description

Siglon PE ADV (advanced) takes the original Siglon PEx8 to the next level thanks to the latest manufacturing process, making it superior in its water repellency, strength, slickness and abrasion resistance.

Detailed Description

Water repellency

Sunline compared the water repellency between Siglon PEx8 and Siglon PE ADV. When a water drop was placed on to the original Siglon PE the drop soaks into the line (which is normal for PE lines). However Siglon PE ADV shows an excellent repellency due to a special resin that penetrates deep into the fibre. This technology is the first in the industry which Sunline named Deep Resin Technology (DRT). Due to the special processing, the water sheds from the line easily, so the line is unlikely to become heavy. That means you can make a long cast every time. Also, the line doesn't stick to the rod. As a result, you can continue fishing without stress.

My go to line

I use siglon ADV on all my top end reels, and at 0.270mm it's slightly thicker than the Varivas at 0.235mm but with its DRT i find I'm getting a slightly better vertical drop. Some of my other outfits have nomad, kairiki, & J braid grande, but when vertical jigging, this is my go to braid without even giving it a second thought.

Great line, but be careful.

I really like this line, and to find multi colour in low breaking strain is great for small lure trolling. It’s knot strength is good. The only issue is it is very sensitive to catching on things, even to the dry skin on my fingers when tieing knots it will sometimes catch and pull. You need to be very careful with hook points and barbs as well. My lures have never swum better using it, but I have to check the first 120 feet ( 4 colours) I use after every outing, as I have had it let me down on a few fish when it will just pull apart.
